The Strikers come into this match in poor form after losing three of their last four matches. It gets even worse when you consider that the only match they won came down to a super over.

While the Sixers come into this final red-hot as they are on a five-game winning streak, including two victories over the Strikers last weekend.

The key to the Sixers success has been their batting; they can post massive totals and they can chase anything down. In the regular season, they’ve scored nearly 100 runs more than any other side.

Their brilliant batting isn’t surprising given the quality of their batters; Ellyse Perry is one of the best players in the world at the moment, while Alyssa Healy and Ash Gardner are Australian representatives.

Their bowling is strong too, with Sarah Aley, Sarah Coyte and Kim Garth at the helm.

The Sixers won’t be easy to defeat, but the Strikers have the firepower to cause an upset.

With the ball, they’ve conceded the least runs of any team.

Amanda-Jade Wellington is a genuine wicket-taker with her leg spin, while seamers Megan Schutt, Sophie Devine and Tahlia McGrath rarely bowl poor deliveries.

Against such a strong batting line-up, the Strikers will need some early breakthroughs.

Openers Devine and Suzie Bates is the key as they’re the only two batters to pass 50 for Adelaide this season.

Ultimately, it’s this over-reliance on the openers that might cost the Strikers against a powerful Sixers’ team.

Despite finishing first, the Sixers will travel to Adelaide to face the Strikers in the second semi-final due to the match being scheduled as a pre-cursor to the BBL semi-final.

Last time they met:

The two teams have met twice in the past week, with the Sixers comfortably winning both encounters. Healy was the difference between the two sides with the bat, and Sarah Coyte has been the pick of the bowlers, which is remarkable since last weekend was her first two WBBL matches since coming out of retirement. The Strikers struggled in both matches, but Sophie Devine did dominate the first match with the bat, scoring 70 off 45.

Player to watch: Alyssa Healy (Sydney Sixers)

After a slow start, where she scored just 118 runs in the first nine matches, Healy has kicked into gear at the business end of the season. She’s scored two 50s and one century in her last five innings, almost single-handedly winning three matches for Adelaide. The Strikers were unable to stop her when the two teams met last weekend, with Healy scoring 169 runs in two innings. Given that the rest of Sydney’s batting line-up struggled against the Strikers, dismissing Healy will be crucial to Adelaide’s hopes.
