Siemsen to the top

Sydney’s 2-0 win over the Jets has them sitting in second position on the ladder at the end of Round Five, only one point behind table leaders Melbourne City.

Remy Siemsen scored both goals for the Sky Blues, and now has a tally of six goals so far this season.

Her first goal came after a beautiful curling cross from Angelique Hristodoulou, which Siemsen headed into the goal with ease. The 20-year-old added a second to her name after Newcastle’s keeper Claire Coelho made an error that Siemsen was able to capitalise on.

Tonight’s win against Newcastle Jets is the third match where Remy Siemsen has scored a brace. The youngster is currently in first place for the golden boot award – she’s certainly earning her starting position in the squad, and she’s sure to continue being a vital part of Sydney’s success this season.
