Round 1 of the WNBL has wrapped up and here's the goods on the results.
First up, the Sydney Uni Flames went down to University of Canberra Capitals 78-97, taking an early lead and powered through to the end.
Import Kia Nurse scored 26 points for the Capital and gave them a great away result. Alex Bunton managed to notch up 27 points for the losing team in a strong display.

In other matches, Perth Lynx (66) def by Adelaide Lightning (78) with Asia Taylor (16) and Nia Coffey (19) the top scorers for the teams respectively.

Deakin Melbourne Boomers (72) lost to Bendigo Spirit (82) in a tight game at home.
Marena Whittle scored 21 points for the visitors while Steph Talbot was the best scorer for the Boomers with 20 points.

Finally, last years champions, the JCU Townsville Fire (68) were defeated by Jayco Dandenong Rangers (73) with Suzy Batkovic leading the scoring on 20 points. Rebecca Cole and Betnijah Laney helped the Rangers to the win with 18 and 16 points respectively.
