RISING STAR OF THE WEEK

Kalinda Howarth put away three impressive goals for the Gold Coast Suns in their game against Brisbane, earning herself a nomination for NAB AFLW Rising Star. The teams drew in the fierce Q-Clash signalling the beginning a new and exciting rivalry.

BEHIND OF THE YEAR?

The Bulldogs-Carlton game saw a truly remarkable effort from Kirsten McLeod. A breathtaking foot race between McLeod and Vaomua Laloifi became a two-on-one contest as Kerryn Harrington joined the fray.

McLeod was able to shake them both off, nearly losing control as she sprinted down the wing, and finished with a behind that didn’t do justice to the effort it took her to get the it there.

MATCH OF THE WEEK

One of the most nail-biting games of the week has got to be the Adelaide-Geelong clash at Kardinia Park that saw the Crows win on enemy territory. Some spectacular goals and contests, the game highlights are a definite ‘must-see’.

OUR PLAYER OF THE ROUND

Finally, Dana Hooker has got to go down as one of the star players of the round. Despite playing for the WCE, an expansion team struggling to make their mark on the AFLW, Hooker brings a relentless energy every week.

She had an impressive game on Sunday before unfortunately needing to be escorted off the field in the fourth quarter when she took an accidental boot to the throat.
