Youngster Mary Fowler has become the second uncapped player in the Matildas 2018 Tournament of Nations squad.
The 15-year-old was recently crowned the Golden Boot at the recent AFF Women’s Championship in Indonesia, scoring 10 goals in six matches for the Young Matildas.
Originally from North Queensland, the current Bankstown City Lions player scored five goals in 31 minutes against Cambodia. She also scored a brace in the final against Thailand, which Thailand senior women’s side went on to win 3-2.

“Mary has been brought in because Caitlin (Foord) won’t be able to contribute in terms of game time,” Matildas coach Alen Stajcic said.
Foord could see game time this weekend as reported earlier today but this won't be known until the day of the game. However, there are still hopes to reintegrate her into the squad after being away from the national side for the last five months.
“With Caitlin, it will be great to reintegrate her into the squad, but there’s also an opportunity to give another player an opportunity to come in," Stajcic said.
Leah Blayney, who was the coach of the Young Matildas during the AFF Women's Championships, said Fowler is an exciting prospect.

“She’s a two-footed player and a natural goalscorer who you can see loves the game whenever she’s out on the pitch," Blayney told matildas.footballaustralia.com.au.
“That passion was evident throughout her time away with us in Indonesia and I’ve got no doubt she’ll make the most of this opportunity at the Tournament of Nations,” she said.
