Bobby Despotovski is talking up Perth Glory's credentials, with 11 players confirmed in a fresh-faced squad as they attempt to go one better than last season.
Perth face an uphill challenge is replicating last season's Grand Final success without golden boot winner and overall superstar Sam Kerr to lead the line, with the Matilda yet to confirm whether she'll return to Perth next season.
But far from deflated, Despotovski is hoping that some new faces will help lead a reinvigorated outfit to build upon last season's success.
The experienced gaffer certainly isn't shying away from any targets.
"We are going with a slightly different squad this year," he said.
"In terms of our target for the season, it is always to finish in the top four and then try and win it from there.
"We're not going to deviate from that."
Similarly to Newcastle Jets, so far there is a distinctive Perth-flavour to the Glory's signings, although Perth maintain that "a number of players from overseas" are set to join the club shortly.
"There is a lot of local talent on show and the reason behind that is our determination to give local WA players an opportunity to play at Westfield W-League level," he continued.
"Obviously they have to be good enough and I believe that this blend of players that we have chosen this year and in particular the young players, are definitely good enough.
"They need that chance to play and show their talent and that's what we're going to give them.
