Australian Commonwealth Games medalist Emily Tapp and Ashleigh Gentle have both come away with silver medals at the World Triathlon Series in Edmonton.
Tapp has been having a great season since her Commonwealth Games debut, where she took home a silver in the Paratriathlon and continued they form in Canada.
Japan's Wakako Tsuchida took out the gold in the event after pushing out to win in a time of 01:19:16.

In the women's elite, Gentle was the last of the Australians out of the water with Kelly-Ann Perkins, Natalie VanCoevorden and Charlotte McShane in front of her.
In the bike and run leg, she was able to make her move as she moved top five athletes, which featured four triathletes from the Great Britain team.
It looked like it would come down to a sprint finish as Vicky Holland along with Gentle broke away but it was 2016 Rio Olympic bronze medalist Holland who took the gold.

“My season started with a crash in Abu Dhabi and then a fourth-place finish in Yokohama" Gentle told World Triathlon.
"I am thrilled to be here in second place. Before the race, I recognized that this course is one that might suit me, that hill is really tough.
“I was really happy to catch on to that front group,” she said.
