Records have continued to tumble for Australian Jess Fox as the 2018 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships came to a close.
Fox showed class on the water, as she did throughout the European summer, to claim her fourth World Championship gold in the women's C1.
She was almost five seconds fastest that the 2017 World Champion Mallory Franklin.
It is the second time the dual Olympian has won both the C1 and K1 titles, with the first taking place in 2014.
"I thought this may never happen again, you have to have everything aligned for it to happen," Fox said.
"To be able to do that again, I can't believe it," she said.
Fox confirmed herself as the greatest female paddler in the history of the sport with a combined nine World titles across three disciplines including two C1 team golds.
Her win sees her leapfrog her mother Myriam Jersusalmi, to become the most successful female canoe slalom paddler of all time.
The 24-year-old also managed to paddle through an entire season undefeated in C1 and became the first athlete to win both the K1 and C1 World Cup titles.
"It's been the perfect season, the perfect World Championships and I'm absolutely thrilled," Fox told ICF media.
"Yesterday (Saturday) I couldn't appreciate what I had done as I have the C1 semis that afternoon but now all the emotion is there and it's amazing to share it with everyone here.
"I can't wait to get home and celebrate," she said.
The win came only 24 hours after she overtook her father Richard, as the most successful individual athlete of all time when she defended her K1 crown.
