Newcastle Jets players, Gema Simon and Emily van Egmond were just teenagers when the W-league outfit made their last finals appearance.
Before this season, Van Egmond hadn't played the last three years in Australia, opting to stay in Germany with her Frauen-Bundesliga teams but parted ways with her German club to come back to Newcastle.
"This year has been extremely enjoyable both on and off the field," she said
"Here in Newcastle, we have a great bunch of girls and we've been very fortunate to have four very good internationals come out from America to contribute to that.
"It has been very enjoyable to work and learn with the coaches this season," van Egmond said.

Meanwhile, Simon has played in all 10 W-League season, only having one away from the Jets when she joined Melbourne Victory in 2014 alongside teammate Hannah Brewer.
Simon had the chance to play in the 2014 finals series with Victory but due to chronic fatigue, she couldn't make an appearance.
However, this season hasn't been kind to her either, and she is lucky to be back playing with the Jets after sustaining an injury while playing for Avaldsnes in Norway.
"With my injury I had people telling me that I was going to miss all of W-League so to even be back to be in the position where I'm able to play is pretty special," she said
