Roselee Jencke is delighted to continue her role as the head coach of the Queensland Firebirds as she signs a contract extension until 2020.
"It is an awesome feeling to know the Catherine Clark and Netball Queensland have the confidence and belief in me to take the Firebirds through to 2020," she said.
Originally from Victoria, Jancke feels at home in the Sunshine state having been part of the Firebirds since 2010.
She has led the Firebirds to a historical undefeated championship in 2011 before runner-up finishes in both 2013 and 2014.
After two nail-biting grand final wins in 2015 and 2016, the Firebirds became the first team ever to win back-to-back championships.
However, despite all the successes, Jancke has no desire to move to try her hand at other Suncorp Super Netball club.
"I'm passionate about the Firebirds, I'm passionate about Netball Queensland and it's an exciting time for netball," she said.
"We've got fantastic young players coming through and I want to be a part of that going into the future."
It's been an up and down season for the Firebirds as they sit in fifth on the ladder, just two points behind rivals NSW Swifts but after missing the finals series in 2017, the pressure is on to make it in 2018.
"I always have the highest expectations, we want to be successful," Jancke said.
"We've had a lot of success in the past but every year you have to re-invent yourself and it's hard but that's what makes it so great," she said.
The Firebirds face the Adelaide Thunderbirds on Sunday, June 17 at 12:30pm.
