The New Zealand Black Ferns have kept their winning run against Australia intact after beating them at ANZ stadium 31-11.
New Zealand were dangerous in the opening minutes of the second half with their outside centre Stacey Waaka threatening in attack.
An intercept by Wallaroos flanker Emily Chancellor saw Australia in New Zealand’s territory and a penalty ensued in the 47th minute for Robinson to slot it over for a 19-6 lead to New Zealand.
A great run off the back of the scrum from Australia’s number 8 in Hamilton saw her make up for her earlier yellow card.
Her lead-up work resulted in former aussie 7s player Murphy making another break with her lightning speed, but she was pulled down 22 metres out.
New Zealand soon countered with their right winger Renee Wickliffe almost scoring, but desperate defence from Aussie flanker Chancellor ensured New Zealand had to wait a few more minutes before scoring after being awarded a penalty from their superior scrum.
Their driving maul ensured they scored in the 60th minute for a 24-6 lead.
New Zealand’s superior strength, speed and fitness had become apparent by this stage of the match as New Zealand scored again, with the try converted by Cocksedge before she was replaced in the 71st minute.
Australia had fresh legs by this stage of the match and in the 73rd minute saw replacement Alicia Hewitt go over for the Wallaroos to close the gap to 31-11.

New Zealand were strong across the park, but standouts for them were Cocksedge and Waaka, while for Australia, Morgan, Murphy, Hamilton and their two flankers Chancellor and Georgia O’Neill all put in stellar performances.
Australia has slightly closed the gulf between the two teams after their 67-3 belting at Eden Park last year, but there’s still a way to go.
Next week they meet at Eden Park for the second game of the series.
