Barty needed barely an hour to advance to her maiden WTA clay-court singles quarter-final with a straight-sets victory (6-1 6-3) over local Pauline Parmentier while Stosur downed Fed Cup team-mate Daria Gavrilova last night.

It was the third encounter between Stosur and Gavrilova for 2018, with a second straight defeat of Gavrilova on clay.

Neither Barty or Stosur have dropped a set in the lead up to the French Open.

โ€œI donโ€™t know, I just seem to play well here,โ€ Stosur told Tennis Australia.ย

โ€œSo I think anywhere you feel comfortable, youโ€™re bound to play good tennis and Iโ€™m just happy I could keep it going this year,โ€ she said.

Barty plays Qiang Wang on Thursday night and Stosur will face fifth seed Dominika Cibulkova in the quarter-finals on Friday morning for a spot in the last four.
