But before they begin their international preparations they had one last game to play for their overseas clubs.

NWSL (USA)

The Aussies of the NWSL made their last games count. In total, they had three goals and two assists and a combined 635 minutes on the field.

The opening game of the weekend was between Sky Blue FC and the Washington Spirit. The game had plenty of goals and each team was able to score before the 31st minute taking the 1-1 tie into halftime.

The game remained tied until the Aussies on Spirit showed what they can do. Chloe Logarzo received a pass on the left flank that she then slotted to Amy Harrison who was just inside the 18-yard box.

Harrison crossed the ball to her teammate Jordan DiBiasi who sent a one touch rocket shot into the net.

The teams would continue to exchange goals the rest of the game, but the Spirit ended up with the victory winning 3-2.

Spirit (2-1-1) now sit in 5th place whereas Sky Blue FC (0-3-2) is in 8th place. Harrison played 84 minutes for the Spirit before she was subbed off and Logarzo logged 66 minutes for the Spirit.

The second game took place between the Utah Royals and the Houston Dash.

The Dash were hoping to give the Royals their first loss on the season. The Royals who were trying to show they’re the top team in the league got out to a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute.

Then right before the half, the Dash were able to find an equalizer from a defensive miscue, scoring the first goal that the Royals have conceded all season. Five minutes into the second half Houston proved that getting a goal against the Royals was no fluke by scoring another goal to go up 2-1.

The Dash would be able to hold off the Royals the rest of the game even with going down to 10 players due to a red card in the 90th minute.

The Dash’s victory propelled them into first place where they have a 3-1-1 record. The loss dropped the Royals to second. Clare Polkinghorne played a full 90 minutes for the Dash and Kyah Simon was an unused sub.

Orlando Pride went up against the Portland Thorns, the second time this season the teams have played one another. The last time they met the Thorns won the game 2-0.

This time around the game got off to a quick start with Pride taking an early 1-0 lead in the 10th minute. The Thorns were quick to equalise and even able to get another goal before the half concluded going up 2-1.

The second half started with Hayley Raso entering the game making her 2019 season debut for the Thorns after having troubles with her visa.

The other two Aussies on the field for the Thorns helped put the game out of reach for the Pride.

Ellie Carpenter dribbled the ball into the right side of the 18-yard box with some cheeky play where she was able to get end line and send a cross into the box. The ball was deflected but luckily it landed right to Caitlin Foord who volleyed the ball into the net.

Caitlin Foord had another opportunity to score when the Thorns were awarded a penalty kick.  However, the Pride goalkeeper made a great diving save to keep the ball from going across the goal line.

The Thorns would go on to win 3-1 and improve to 3-0-1 on the season which has them in fifth place. Pride suffered their fifth loss of the season dropping to a 0-5-1 record putting them in last.

Carpenter played 90 minutes for the Thorns and Caitlin Foord played 80 minutes. Emily van Egmond played a full game for the Pride while Alanna Kennedy was unavailable due to a left quad injury.

The final game of the weekend had the Chicago Red Stars host the undefeated North Carolina Courage. The Red Stars were hoping to give the Courage their first loss of the season and were able to get an early 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.

Sam Kerr was slotted a ball right at the 18-yard box, she tapped the ball once to her right then placed the ball just between the goalkeeper’s arms into the net.

The Courage was able to get a goal of their own in the 33rd minute. The 1-1 tie would not last long.

Off a Red Stars throw in the ball was flicked up to Kerr’s head that she tapped to her teammate, Michele Vasconcelos, who was able to place a ball 20 yards out into the goal.

Courage kept having chance after chance to get another goal but none of their other 15 shots could find the net.  The Red Stars only had three shots on goal but were able to net every single of them, the last of which coming from none other than Kerr.

Her teammate passed her the ball making Kerr 1v2 in the offensive third. Kerr was able to go around both defenders with one touch to the right giving her enough space to lace the ball into the top right of the net earning her a brace for the game.

The 3-1 victory for the Red Stars moved them up to third place and they now have a 2-0-1 record. The loss for the Courage was the team’s first loss since June 16, 2018. The team was riding a 15-game unbeaten streak but are now in fourth place with a 2-0-1 record.

Lydia Williams, Steph Catley, and Elise Kellond Knight of the Reign FC had a bye week.

Toppserien (Norway)

Not to be outdone by her Matildas teammates in the USA, Tameka Yallop got on the score sheet for Klepp in their 5-0 victory over Vålerenga.  Klepp got their first goal of the game in just the sixth minute of play.

Yallop doubled their score by getting a goal of her own in the seventh minute. The team went into halftime up 4-0. The fifth and final goal of the game didn’t come until the 81st minute when Yallop was able to find the goal once again and earn herself a brace.

Yallop was then subbed off in the 85th minute. Klepp now sits in second place in the league and the team has one more game next week until taking a break for the World Cup.

Úrvalsdeild Kvenna (Iceland)

Grace Maher's KR suffered a 3-0 loss to top of the table Valur. The defeat means the team is last on the ladder having not scored a goal. They are joined by Selfoss and Kelflavík who also haven't won a game.
