The Richmond Tigers are left winless again as the St Kilda girls powered on to their second win of their 2020 campaign. Held at an empty Moorabbin – something we are now unfamiliar with, the Saints stormed home as 39-point victors, adding to coach Peta Searle’s first year record. It was disappointing without fans, but the Saints played to their strengths and exited the ground thanking the fans they wished were present!
NO CROWDS NO WORRIES AS SAINTS GO MARCHING IN
Although it was evident that both St Kilda and Richmond sadly missed their loyal fans, the intensity and noise was up from both sides.
The Saints posted fans well-wishes in their change rooms to inspire their side onto victory, while the Tigers used their social media to get their motivation.
The atmosphere was alive, with the passion in every step of the game from both sides.
After every goal from the Saints, the cheers could be heard echoing across Linton Street.
They won that for all their Saints faithful, despite the circumstances and they’ll continue to push to finish their season strongly.

G-TRAIN THE MOST INTIMIDATING FORWARD IN 2020
St Kilda’s Caitlin ‘G-Train’ Greiser is a massive threat each week to every new defender.
She leads the competition with 10 goals this season and will continue her journey up forward to take home the title.
Her unstoppable mark and fierce movement across the forward half led her side to a much-needed victory in their first season in the AFLW Competition.
Greiser ended the match with three majors to her name, with 11 disposals in her sides impressive win.
She’s quick, has great hands and can kick from every angle. Her firsts season has been impressive, and she’ll only rise from here.
The Saints deserve to clap themselves off the ground after that result 👏#AFLWSaintsTigers pic.twitter.com/1Z2Lk455eX

SAINTS SIZZLE TIGERS THROUGH THE MIDFIELD
The St Kilda midfield were prepared to chase and harass all day, even with their late comfortable lead. When they had the footy, their run and spread was unmatched, running the young Tigers side off their legs in the end.
Leading the clearances 26 to 11 in the third term, the Saints finished off the game dominating, with 31 clearances to 16.
Former AFL player Farren Ray, who is coaching the Saints midfield, should be congratulated for helping his girls to their second win of their 2020 season, pushing his troops to make space, reach and impact every contest for four quarters. Liv Vesely was again impactful, collecting 16 disposals for the young brigade.
Saints Claudia Whitfort and Rosie Dillon have rapidly become key contributors through the middle and will hopefully help the Saints build on this win for the rest of their season.
The Saints ended with 106 contested possessions to the Tigers’ 81.
