The 21-year-old bounced back from a difficult day of qualifying as she had to rely on a second run to make it through to the C1 semi-finals.

Fox had missed out on qualification for the K1 earlier in the week, but put that all behind her with a solid performance in the C1 final last night.

“I’m super happy, it’s been a long and tough week,” Fox told Paddle Australia.

“To finish with a solid run, where I felt really good, it’s a shame about the touch, but I’m really happy.

“It’s been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I think I had a good preparation, I would have loved to have a go in kayak, but I’m just glad I paddled to my potential and my ability today,” she said.

In other results, junior Alexandria Choate finished fifth in the final after qualifying in tenth position while teammate Kate Eckhardt missed out on the final by just 0.08 of a second in 11th place.
