Young Matildas interim coach Ante Juric has named a 26 player squad for an Australian Institute of Sport camp held this week in Canberra.
The camp is part of preparations for November's AFC Under-19 Championships qualifiers, where Australia joins 13 other countries vying for entry into the 2015 championships.
The 2014 squad is a mixture of members of the 2013 AFC U19 Championships team, graduates from the 2013 Mini Matildas, members of the recent 2014 Mini Matildas and players identified in August's National Training Centre Challenge and the W-League.
As the only capped player at senior level, Melbourne Victory's championship defender Emma Checker heads the squad while NSW once again forms the bulk of the class of 2014/15 with experienced W-League players Natalie Tobin and Olivia Price the notable names.
Meanwhile Ross Aloisi's work with the South Australia's NTC program is beginning to bear fruit with 5 players called into camp including the NTC challenge Player of the Tournament Dylan Holmes and regular Adelaide United starters Emily Condon and Monique Iannella.
Brisbane Roar trio Ayesha Norrie (midfielder), Angela Beard (defender) and Sunny Franco (striker), who scored her first W-League goal on the weekend, are prominent among the 2013 Mini Matildas while Princess Ibini, Kobie Ferguson, Ellie Carpenter and goalkeepers Hannah Southwell and Jada Mathyssen-Whyman showed enough in the recent Mini Matildas qualification campaign to earn a call up.
Held in in Hanoi, Vietnam the qualification tournament sees 14 teams, 7 from West and South/Central Asia and 7 from East Asia and ASEAN, divided into two zones (East and West).
Australia has been drawn in Group C alongside Vietnam, Singapore and Hong Kong.
The four nations will play each other once in a league style format with the winner of the group joining Korea Republic, DPR Korea, China and Japan in the eight nation finals.
