Top seed Caroline Wozniacki has defeated Australian hope Ash Barty at the Eastborune International overnight.
The 2018 Australian Open took just one hour and 19 minutes to secure her spot in the semifinal with a 6-4 6-3 victory.
While the opening set was a close affair as Bary forced a double-fault from Wozniacki, she was able to recover and dominate the second.
“Ash is a great player and we know each other very well, I practiced with Ash early this week so I knew that it was going to be very tough," Wozniacki said in a sideline interview after the match.
She now leads the head-to-head series 3-0 against Barty and now faces No.4 seed Angelique Kerber, who defeated Daria Kasatkina 6-1 6-7 (7-3) 7-6 (7-3), for a place in the final.
Barty heads into Wimbledon on the back of some good form including the Nottingham title two weeks ago and owns an 8-2 record on grass-courts this month.
The Wimbledon draw will take place 10am local time (8pm AEST)
