With the rapid changes due to the COVID-19 measures put in place over the week, we’re glad to see that each AFLW club has found some joy in the uncertainty of these times. Check out some of the best posts to grace our screens during the first (and only) round of finals!
Although fans couldn’t get to their game on the weekend, GWS Giants star Alicia Eva was chuffed to receive some amazing hand-made posters from supporters Abbie and Emma. These acts of kindness and support do surely go a long way for the players!
Thank you to our little super fans Abbie and Emma for sending us these posters heading into our first final on the weekend. We wish you could be there too- but know you will be cheering so loud at home! Go Giants! @GWSGIANTS pic.twitter.com/i2l5lxQRRg

It was sad for Cats and football fans alike when their inaugural AFLW Captain Melissa Hickey announced her immediate retirement early this week via a heartfelt Instagram post. Hickey, who continued the legacy of one of the most well-known Geelong names, had only praise for the game she got to play at the elite level.
The Cats Captain won 7 VFLW Premierships, played 25 AFLW games and will be forever remembered as one of the maiden greats of the competition.

Carlton’s Georgia Gee was a firecracker for her side in their 29-point win over Brisbane at Ikon Park. This passage of play shows just how ferocious the 160cm Blue was for her side.
She booted an impressive three goals and collected 12 disposals in one of her strongest performances on 2020. There’s simply no denying that we would have seen a lot more energy from Gee if they'd headed into the preliminary final, hungrier than ever!
