Caitlin Foord & Veronica Latsko 

W-League defences better watch out! These two players combined last season scored a total of 19 goals. Now, they are both in Sky Blue, defending an A-League championship. 

Latsko, 23, made her first foray into the W-League with Adelaide United notching up nine goals. But upon returning to the Houston Dash in the NWSL, she was struck down with a knee injury, ending her season.

While the American has made strong progress with her injury, Caitlin Foord spent the summer scoring a World Cup goal against Brazil in France.

With the 2020 Tokyo Olympic qualifiers on the horizon, there's never been a more important time for Foord to be knocking in goals for fun, especially considering she started only nine games for Portland Thorns in the NWSL season just passed. 

With Sam Kerr absent from this upcoming W-League season, Foord and Latsko firm as arguably the most dangerous attacking partnership in the league.

Lynn Williams

Everyone knows about Sam Kerr's record goal scoring in the United States. Well now it's time to meet the player that kept pushing her in the scoring charts, and won the double with North Carolina Courage.

Lynn Williams is an attacker to be feared. She has a potent eye for goal and what she lacks in height, she makes up for in blistering pace and flawless finishing. Williams holds 19 caps for the UNited States and finished with 12 NWSL goals last season. 

In her first ever season in Australia, she's accompanied by two of her title winning teammates, Kirsten Hamilton and Denise O'Sullivan.

Claire Emslie 

Recently announced Melbourne City signing Claire Emslie brings along with her footballing pedigree rarely seen from foreign players in the W-League. 

Emslie scored Scotland's first ever Women's World Cup goal in June against England this year and boasts 25 caps for her national team. But it's not only her international expertise that makes her stand out from the crowd. 

The Scottish forward has blazed a path in the UK for the last three years in the FA Women's Super League with Bristol City and Manchester City, scoring 19 goals in 51 matches. 

Coming from a level of football that is seen as a step up from the W-League, and a destination that we want our Matildas to aspire to play at, Emslie's season at Melbourne City might just be a case study in European football we've never seen down under.

Yukari Kinga

The World Cup winner, 100-cap Japanese international and former Arsenal star has done it all in world football and will now bring her entire wealth of experience back into Melbourne City.

The Melburnians will be relying on the 35 year-old's incredible influence to launch another tilt at the Championship following a substantial drop-off last season under Rado Vidosic.

But while the side (and this list) are heavily stocked with attackers, it's fitting that Kinga will play a key role from the back this season.

We have one of the most pedigreed attacking lineups in W-League history this season and we're expecting a lot of goals, so players like Kinga will be absolutely key to keeping them out at the other end.

She's also won a casual 26 trophies and counting so far in her career, so we reckon she might bring a winning mentality as well.
