The 19-year-old found out she would be pulling on the orange during a promo reading for the upcoming game against Carlton.

While reading out the promo cards one came up reading "I'll be making my debut", although Mackrill never got out to reading those words.

"...the hell," she said before crying tears of happiness.

Teammates came to congratulate her before she called her parents to give them the news.

Mackrill gave up a lot to make her AFLW dreams come true but during her rookie season in 2018, she didn't make her debut.

Originally from country South Australia, she moved out of home after turning 18 and taking her year 12 exams to chase her dreams.

“It was pretty daunting but it’s nice to finally debut and get to say that it’s all been worth it,” she told gwsgiants.com.au.
