2015/16 premiers Melbourne City are set to play their match as a double header with the A-League match at AAMI Park on Monday, 25 January.
For City, the kick off time and opponent are yet to be confirmed with Adelaide United, Brisbane Roar and the Newcastle Jets all still in the running to meet the premiers.
Second placed Canberra United will meet familiar foe Sydney FC at the familiar venue of McKellar Park at 2pm on Sunday, 24 January. On the line for Canberra is an opportunity to be the first team to defend their title and a record third championship.
The fixtures are departure from previous seasons where the top ranked team has received the possible benefit of an extra day's rest.
Both matches will be broadcast live on FOX Sports and ABC TV.
