Perth Glory have announced the re-signing of American Vanessa DiBernardo for the full 2016/17 W-League season.

“I had a really great time last year” said DiBernardo.

“We probably didn’t get the results we wanted but I know that Bobby (Despotovski) and the rest of the team have worked hard to bring in some new blood, locally and from overseas.”

Although the 24 year old only appeared in eight matches, DiBernardo made a significant impact for the Glory, particularly in the absence of captain Sam Kerr.

The attacking midfielder finished the season with the Glory Golden Boot and their Player of the Year Award.

“I think with the squad the coaches are building we should be confident in eyeing off a finals berth” she added.

It is a sentiment echoed by Glory coach Bobby Despotovski.

“We’ve got our targets and we know what we want to achieve. Last year was a period of consolidation, now we are moving forward with the aim of giving the title a real shake.”

Perth Glory are looking to return to the finals after missing out last season.  They start their season on 6 November 2016 with a double header against Western Sydney Wanderers.
