The U17s will attempt to qualify for the U17 FIFA Women's World Cup for the first time

U17 Women's National Team Head Coach Belinda Wilson has selected a 23 player squad for the upcoming AFC U16 Girls Championships.
Commencing on 26 September, the championships also double as qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup with the top three countries set to represent Asia.
The final squad released remained relatively unchanged from the squad called into the last couple of training camps with players from Queensland and New South Wales dominating selection.

Wilson commences final preparations for the tournament on 19 September when the squad convenes in Brisbane for a final camp which will include matches against the Brisbane Roar in Toowoomba.
Australia have been drawn in Group A alongside tournament hosts China and Bahrain.
