One city, two teams.  The W-League finally has derby of its own with the battle for Sydney on this weekend as Sky Blues of Sydney FC take on the Red and Black of the Western Sydney Wanderers.

It is set up to be a tantalising encounter between two squads of players who, at various times throughout their careers, have been one. Between them are 26 Australian/NZ representatives, 11 senior Matildas,

The clash is made spicier, not that it needed it, by the fact that the new kids on the block managed a pre-season raid on several of the Sky Blues decorated players including Walsh herself and Matildas Servet Uzunlar and Teigen Allen.

Add to that equation the fact that several of the Wanderers are former charges of Alen Stajcic (including Catherine Cannuli, Samantha Spackman, Alesha Clifford and Linda O'Neill to name a couple) and you get the feeling that this won't be "just another game."

Both sides enter the contest smarting.  Western Sydney due to squandering a two goal advantage in their inaugural match against Adelaide United and Sydney FC who feel, despite coming back from two goals down, that they should have captured all three points from their match with the Newcastle Jets.
