Formation: 4-4-2
Goalkeeper
Lydia Williams (Canberra United): Williams' performance under pressure was integral in keeping Canberra unbeaten. Particularly good in the big games.
Defenders
Brooke Spence (Brisbane Roar): Reliable defending and composed on the ball on the counter-attack.
Abby Erceg (Adelaide United): Adelaide's negative 25 goal difference would have been pushing negative 50 without Erceg.
Caitlin Cooper (Canberra United): Cooper and Brush didn't always give Williams the best protection but an unbeaten season speaks for itself.
Taryn Hemmings (Canberra United): Versatility, quality and class. Throw in glamour and you have the perfect import.
Midfielders
Ashleigh Sykes (Canberra United): Quick, skilled and a fierce competitive spirit. The most underrated player in the league.
Sally Shipard (Canberra United): The running machine and the engine that drove Canberra's success.
Teresa Polias (Sydney FC): An unheralded centre midfield presence that has been a cornerstone of the Sydney team for two seasons now.
Kendall Fletcher (Melbourne Victory): Scored goals, marked players, won the 50/50s and for good measure, the best header of the ball in the league. Player of the season.
Strikers
Emily Gielnik (Brisbane Roar): One of the few Aussie juniors to shine in Asian youth qualifiers, the good form translated into the club season.
Michelle Heyman (Canberra United): Top scorer who got it done in all the big games. An imposing presence.
COACH: Jitka Klimkova
Turned a team of nearly-women into a side that held its nerve through every challenge. That Hemmings and Hayley Raso went to another level in the finals speaks volumes about Klimkova's recruiting nous.
