Sydney FC attacking midfielder Leena Khamis will be once again on the sidelines for 12 months after injuring her anterior cruciate ligament on Sunday.
The ACL tear was sustained while the striker was playing for her long time club the Macarthur Rams in the NSW Women's Premier League. For 27 year old Khamis, it is her second ACL injury after she missed the 2012/13 W-League with the same injury on the same knee.
Maybe it's time to retire. Same knee.
Same outcome. Same emotions... I'm devastated. Another long 12 months ????

Khamis joins a long list of talented players on the sideline due to knee injuries including Kyah Simon, Amy Chapman and Ashley Brown.
With 12 months on the sideline Khamis, who was part of the Matildas silver medal winning Asian Cup side, will be in a race to be available for the 2015 Women's World Cup.
