The Young Matildas finished their three match series with the Junior Football Ferns with a 0 – 0 draw at Seddon Fields with the result seeing the two countries split the series 1 – 1.
Contrary to the first two matches, this encounter was a tight tussle with neither side giving up too many clear cut chances.
Australia started the match well with captain Chloe Logarzo and Game 2 goal scorer Melissa Caceras leading the midfield while Tara Andrews proved dangerous up top.
The Young Matildas best chances came early in the second half with Alisha Bass going close on several occasions only to be denied by New Zealand custodian Lily Alfeld.
The home side also managed for fashion some chances with the most dangerous when a Jasmine Pereira cross was cleared by Australia before falling to Emma Rolston whose dipping shot was tipped over by MacKenzie Arnold.
The Young Matildas now look to continue their preparation for the AFC U19 Championships with the ASEAN Football Federation Women's Championships in September.
