With international duty ravaging the Sydney FC starting XI, coach Alen Stajcic has secured some quality replacements on guest stints to the Sky Blues.
Former captain Kylie Ledbrook and current Liverpool Ladies and former Arsenal striker Lillie Billson have been added to the squad ahead of today's blockbuster match with the top of the table Perth Glory.
Ledbrook is a familiar name and face to the Sky Blues with the midfielder a foundation player and much loved figure around the club. A creative and hardworking midfielder, her retirement earlier this season was a shock to many fans and her return, albeit currenty short term, will be a boost to Sydney.
Billson is less familiar to the Sky Blue fans but is familiar to Perth with the 21 year old a former resident of WA before being snapped up by Arsenal Ladies at 15. Billson has spent the last six years playing in UK and has represented Arsenal, Bristol, Doncaster and currently Liverpool in the FA WSL, as well representing Ireland in the U19 European Championship in 2009.
Good on the ball, pacy and athletic, Billson can be deployed as either a striker, where she spent a majority of her time playing, or a midfielder (as in recent years).
These two experienced additions will assist a Sky Blues side high on young talent but missing crucial tried and tested performers.
With the UK season only recently ending, Billson is expected to start while a not quite match fit Ledbrook will look to come off the bench.
