Simon departure rumors silenced | TWG
Sydney FC championship winning captain Kyah Simon will not be returning to the club for the 2013/14 W-League.
Speculation commenced weeks ago as to whether the 2010/11 Julie Dolan Medallist would be returning to the Sky Blues and in the last fortnight those rumblings have reached a crescendo.
This week Sydney FC gave the clearest indication yet of Simon's imminent departure with the confirmed signings of club stalwarts Danielle Brogan and Leena Khamis, with 25 year old Brogan named as captain for Season 6.

"We are disappointed that she is not coming back," stated a Sydney FC spokesperson.
"Kyah was an integral part of our championship and despite best efforts it is highly unlikely she will be playing for Sydney FC."
Simon, who has been capped 40 times for the Matildas, joined Sydney FC in 2009 after a season with the Central Coast Mariners. Her four seasons with the Sky Blues has seen her capture two championships, two premierships, the Golden Boot, Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.
Having just returned to the country in the last 24 hours after an injury and illness disrupted season with the Boston Breakers in the NWSL, interest now turns to which club she will join.
Cross town rivals the Western Sydney Wanderers are in the box seat with Simon a product of the regions junior system. A move to the Wanderers would result in two more Matildas, with Heather Garriock rumoured to be on her way to the club, to add to duo Servet Uzunlar and Teigen Allen.
Meanwhile Sydney FC have already begun the task of building their squad for their title defence with further squad announcements due in the coming weeks.
