The Top of the Table clash saw Perth Glory come out on top and claim a handy 5 point buffer from Sydney FC. Melbourne Victory continued on their unbeaten streak while the Brisbane Roar halted their slide.
Canberra United unexpectedly dropped points while Adelaide United finally obtained reward for their efforts this season and the Newcastle Jets leapfrogged United into the coveted Top 4.

Short Corners
- Marianna Tabain's stunning goal was the difference between Perth Glory and Sydney FC on the weekend with the win Perth's sixth straight win. It is the best start to a season by any side in the W-League era, surpassing Canberra United's 5 in their championship season (2011/12)
- This weekend saw an unprecedented three goalkeepers make their W-League debuts with Alyssia Harris (Sydney FC), Melissa Maizels (Canberra United) and Hannah Southwell (Newcastle Jets) all assuming the No.1 for their first time. It was also a tough weekend for the Keeper's Union with two goalkeepers (Brianna Davey and Casey Dumont) substituted for the first time
- As well has being part of a historic weekend for goalkeepers, Jets' custodian Hannah Southwell created some history all of her own as she became the youngest ever goalkeeper, at 15 years and 7 months, to don the gloves. A Mini Matilda, Southwell beats out the previous youngest Casey Dumont (16 years and 9 months) by a full year.
- At the opposite of end of the age records this weekend was Adelaide United captain Kristy Moore. With her brace on the weekend, the indefatigable Moore became the oldest ever W-League goalscorer at 37 years and 8 months beating out fellow South Australian Sharon Black by one month.
