Three-time World Champion Susan Seipel has claimed bronze in the women’s VL2 at the ICF Paracanoe World Cup in Hungary.
Seipel, who has been battling a cold and severe laryngitis during her time in Hungary, finished second in her heat yesterday behind Paralympic gold medalist Emma Wiggs to directly qualify for the final.
She fought hard in the final to finish behind British pair Wiggs and Jeanette Chippington.
“It hasn’t been the best week for me, being sick since last Saturday,” she told Australian Canoeing Media.
“So that’s the best I could do today.
"I have to be happy with just getting out there,” she said.
Other Australians at the event included K2 500 Olympians Alyssa Bull and Alyce Burnett who are straight through their final with Cat McArthur progressing to K1 500 semi-finals.
