Seattle Reign duo Kim Little and Jessica Fishlock have become Melbourne City's first international signings for the upcoming W-League season.

On loan from the two time NWSL premiers, Little and Fishlock are individually considered among the top midfielders in the world and together form a formidable midfield platform.

Although just 25 years old, Little heads to Melbourne with a big reputation as a quality attacking midfielder following almost a decade of top performances at Arsenal Ladies and Seattle Reign.

At her time with Arsenal the creative midfielder led the Gunners to national titles and from 2010 – 2012 was Arsenal's leading scorer and one of the top goalscorers in the league.

Her time in England saw named the 2012/13 PFA Women's Player of the Year.

Moving to Seattle for 2014 NWSL season, Little quickly transitioned into the American game and her debut season with Reign saw her assist the team from second last in 2013 to premiers in 2014.

Along the way Little's performances and goals saw her finish the season the NWSL Golden Boot and named the NWSL Most Valuable Player.

After a slow start in 2015, Little and the Reign continued in the same vein as 2014 finishing the season as the second top goalscorer and top assist maker as the Reign won back to back league titles.

Internationally the midfielder has played has been capped over 100 times for Scotland and was close to leading them to their first Women's World Cup appearance, only to fall at the UEFA Qualifiers play-off stage.

Meanwhile Fishlock returns to Australia after a season's absence having previously played for the Melbourne Victory (surprise!) in Seasons 6 and 7.

Her on field play saw her voted the Season 7 Players' Player of the Year after being instrumental in leading the Victory, in a Player of the Match performance, to their first championship.

A tough, tenacious holding midfielder with excellent skills and vision, the signing of 28 year old is a coup for City.

In her time away from the W-League Fishlock continued to build on her reputation with Reign and UEFA Champions League winner FFC Frankfurt.

Fishlock also joins up with Victory championship teammates De Vanna, Davey and Steph Catley.

With Little and Fishlock on board it now provides a strong spine for Joe Montemurro with Brianna Davey (goalkeeper), Laura Alleway (central defender) and Lisa De Vanna already secured.

Melbourne City kick off their season against Sydney FC on 18 October 2015.
