Matildas striker Sarah Walsh was a part of that 23 player squad to make history and as an analyst for Fox Sports, Walsh is back at the tournament commentating on the Matildas run to the 2014 final.
Along the way Australia has encountered names familiar teams. None more familiar than final opponent Japan who the Matildas defeated in the semi finals four years ago in a famous back-to-the-wall victory.
We had a chat to Walsh about that history making two weeks in China.
