The ABC Match of the Round sees the grand final replay between Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory at Goodwin Park.
Brisbane Roar enter the match in the unfamiliar position of sixth on the table after back to back losses with the most recent against a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Western Sydney Wanderers.
Their opponents Melbourne Victory, on the other hand, are looking to build on their four game unbeaten streak including Round 5's 4-0 win over Adelaide United.
That the Roar are under pressure from here is evident but how they will respond to that pressure is not so evident.
From Day One, Brisbane have been the standard bearers of the competition and it strange for all to see them struggling for results.
Individually the Roar have been in reasonable form with Katrina Gorry, who put on her best performance yet, beginning to find her form, Tameka Butt hitting the scoreboard and defensively they have looked sound under the guidance of Laura Alleway and Clare Polkinghorne.
One area they have been lacking is on the scoreboard with only 6 goals (the second worst in the competition) scored to date with 5 of those goals coming from their strikers Emily Gielnik (3) and Hayley Raso (2).
This output speaks to the possible problem with the midfield chemistry.
After all the best Brisbane sides have been those where the midfield have been contributing heavily with goals; an indication of their possession dominance in the right areas.
An example of this is their opponents Melbourne Victory whose midfield have contributed 8 of their 14 goals (second highest league goal tally).
Along with goals, Victory's engine room of Christine Nairn, Amy Jackson and Ella Mastrontonio have allowed the defending champions to dictate the tempo of most matches and have supplied their strikers well.
This battle will be key as this season the large majority of sides who strike first have taken the points.
There is plenty at stake for both sides as this really is the last roll of the dice for Brisbane with a loss ending their finals chances. For Melbourne a win will see them leapfrog Sydney FC in second position by virtue of goal difference.
The last time these two sides met was in the 2014 W-League Grand Final with the Melbourne Victory claiming their first championship with a 2-0 win.
Despite that victory, Brisbane Roar still lead this head to head with 8 wins while Melbourne only has that important 1 win.
