Having recently returned home from playing top tier club football in Norway, Arnold will again play a key role for Brisbane's Premiership-winning Roar Women side.

The club was still waiting for her international clearance certificate from Norway to finalise the deal, when she was named in the Matildas squad this morning, which meant she was listed as "unattached".

Roar opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Perth Glory last weekend and Coach Mel Andreatta is delighted to have one of Australia's finest shot-stoppers back in Queensland for season 2018/19 and beyond.

"Over the years our football club has been blessed with some outstanding goalkeepers. It's wonderful to once again have Mackenzie as part of our squad for Season 11," Andreatta said.

"Macca continues to flourish as a footballer and is one of Australia's top female keepers. She will play a key role during our 2018/19 campaign."

After making her W-League debut at just 17, highly-rated Arnold will bring seven years of top-level experience to the Roar Women lineup.

The 24-year-old Matilda proved her importance to the Roar Women squad after keeping an impressive six clean sheets in 12 matches during the Premiership-winning 2017/18 campaign.

Arnold maintained her form with the Matildas on their recent tour of Europe, and can't wait to line up against the Wanderers on Sunday.

“I’m very happy to be back in Brisbane with this talented group of players and looking forward to the challenges that Season 11 will present,” Arnold said.

“I really enjoyed my time in Norway with Arna-Bjornar and I’d like to thank them for the opportunity.

“Having committed my long-term future to the Roar, I can’t wait to get out onto the park this Sunday with my teammates.”
