A record crowd of 48,121 has watched Atletico Madrid defeat Athletic Bilbao in the quarterfinals of the Copa de la Reina.
Not only is it a Spanish record for the largest ever attendance for a club-level women’s match in Europe but it is the largest crowd Athletic club have seen all season.
The men's team this season attracted 46,860 for a single match at the 53,000-capacity venue in Bilbao.

"It's every soccer player's dream, trying to fill a stadium like San Mamés, it's been a dream come true and we've really enjoyed it," said Atletico goalkeeper Lola Gallardo.
Atletico scored the opening goal just before halftime before extending their lead in injury time to advance to the semi-finals despite being down to 10 players.
Australia's Alex Chidiac didn't take to the field for the match but has made 14 appearances and scored three goals across domestic and cup competitions.
The record for a women's football match still stands at 90,185 which came during the final of the 1999 World Cup between the United States and China at the Rose Bowl.
