From the traditional to the exciting, here are the kits of the FIFA Women’s World Cup final 16.

Each kit is given a rating out of 10 according to how original they are compared to the country’s previous kits, how nice the finish (overall look and cut) is and how unique it is compared to the other kits at the tournament.

Australia home
Originality 6/10
Finish 5/10
Uniqueness 9/10

The Australian home jersey is a throwback to the kits of the 90s. Most people either love it or hate it but there is no denying this kit is different. This look is at its best when paired with the matching socks as opposed to the usual block colours, and the green shorts to break the pattern.

Originality 10/10
Finish 7/10
Uniqueness 8/10

The green of the Matildas’ away jersey differs from the usual navy second strip. The neon numbers contrast with the dark kit making it easy to read from a distance and matches the splash of colour across the front.

Norway home
Originality 6/10
Finish 7/10
Uniqueness 8/10

The Norwegian home strip has managed to set itself apart from the rest of the red, blue and white kits. The clever fade from red to blue gives the kit a fresh and unique look while also adding to the class of the finish.

Norway away
Originality 6/10
Finish 6/10
Uniqueness 2/10

Though similar to some of their previous away jerseys, this strip has added more colour. The style and cut gives the shirt a nice finish. Although due to many countries using similar, colours the kit could be misidentified.

Italy home
Originality 4/10
Finish 5/10
Uniqueness 5/10

Reminiscent of past jerseys, Italy has gone with a traditional approach to their home kit for the World Cup. While not the most exciting jersey, it is easily recognisable.

Originality 2/10
Finish 6/10
Uniqueness 2/10

Having their main kit colour as white means the Italian away jersey is very similar to many other counties at this World Cup. The only differences being the blue trim on the sleeves and the prominent position of the flag. Italy is yet to debut this kit in France.

China home
Originality 3/10
Finish 7/10
Uniqueness 6/10

Though similar to past versions, the finish of China’s home jersey is nice and clean. With a large number of teams at the World Cup also sporting red, the yellow detailing on the shoulders sets China apart.

China away
Originality 7/10
Finish 7/10
Uniqueness 8/10

China’s away kit is vastly different from others in the tournament. In stark contrast to the traditional colours of the home kit, the grey and orange provide a refreshing change and the subtle detailing of the shirt gives it an extra touch of class.

England home
Originality 4/10
Finish 9/10
Uniqueness 4/10

The English kits have rarely seen major changes but perhaps that’s for the best. The red trimming on the white strip gives the overall kit a sleek and clean finish.

England away
Originality 4/10
Finish 9/10
Uniqueness 4/10

While it is another red kit, the finish of England’s second strip is clean and classy. There is some patterning on the shirt but it is difficult to see if you’re in the stands.

Cameroon home
Originality 6/10
Finish 4/10
Uniqueness 5/10

Cameroon’s jersey is not easily identifiable. The colours are similar to many other countries from the Confederation of African Football. What this jersey does well is in keeping elements of past iterations namely the lion symbol worked in on the shoulders.

Cameroon away
Originality 7/10
Finish 4/10
Uniqueness 6/10

Choosing yellow instead of the previous white was a clever move for Cameroon’s away strip. The kit itself is the same as the home jersey only with the colours reversed. Yellow is a less common colour among the teams of the final 16 and in this case it will work well for Cameroon.

France home
Originality 2/10
Finish 8/10
Uniqueness 5/10

France’s home kit is very traditional but with a modern finish. It's difficult to have a unique uniform using red white and blue but this kit is unmistakably French.

France away
Originality 8/10
Finish 8/10
Uniqueness 9/10

Like their home jersey, Lez Blu ‘s second strip is very French and very modern. The new spotted design is unlike any other kit at the Women’s World cup and builds on the style of their previous away kit which contained small strips of colour.

Brazil home
Originality 2/10
Finish 6/10
Uniqueness 6/10

Despite its more modern finish, the Brazilian first strip is almost identical to those of the past.

Originality 6/10
Finish 8/10
Uniqueness 7/10

In a lighter blue, the away kit contrasts well with the bright yellow numbers making them easily readable. The subtle patterns on the jersey give it a clean finish and the white shorts break up the colour of the matching shirt and socks.

Spain home
Originality 5/10
Finish 6/10
Uniqueness 3/10

Spain’s home jersey has a nice cut and sleek finish. It is quite traditional and reflects many of the country’s past kits. The detailing adds an interesting element to the shirt however it is difficult to see from a distance.

Spain away
Originality 5/10
Finish 4/10
Uniqueness 2/10

The Spanish second strip can be easily confused with almost any of the other white kits at the world cup this year. There is some slight patterns on the shirt however it is almost impossible to see unless you have front row seats. This kit is also let down by the use of black trimming as opposed to the red of previous years.

USA home
Originality 4/10
Finish 6/10
Uniqueness 4/10

Very similar to the English home kit, the USA ‘s first strip is white with a red and blue trim on the sleeves. It is also similar to their previous home kits but with a more modern finish.

USA away
Originality 5/10
Finish 6/10
Uniqueness 6/10

The saving grace of this jersey is the detailing. While there are many other red jerseys at the tournament this year, the stripes on this US jersey are more easily seen from a distance. The jersey also has the same nice finish of the home kit.

Netherlands home
Originality 2/10
Finish 6/10
Uniqueness 8/10

The colour orange is unmistakably Dutch and this kit is no exception. While there is little difference between this strip and previous iterations, this kit works well for the Netherlands and is clearly a unique kit.

Netherlands away
Originality 6/10
Finish 7/10
Uniqueness 8/10

The uniqueness of this kit comes mainly due to the colour. The detailing fades nicely into the darker shorts and the colour and prominent placing of the emblem means you can easily identify this Netherlands outfit.

Japan home
Originality 3/10
Finish 3/10
Uniqueness 5/10

This dark blue jersey is traditional and very similar to past Japanese kits because of this it lacks the modern finish of most other kits at the women’s world cup and the shorts appear to be a different shade to the jersey. However, sticking to this tradition means fans can easily identify the Japanese team.

Japan away
Originality 5/10
Finish 5/10
Uniqueness 2/10

Though more of a grey, Japan’s second strip is still very similar to many of the white kits at the tournament this year.

Germany home
Originality 5/10
Finish 5/10
Uniqueness 7/10

Germany’s home kit is very similar to those of the past. The difference is the added colour in the pattern across the chest. This has made the kit more interesting and hells differentiate it from the other white kits.

Germany away
Originality 6/10
Finish 5/10
Uniqueness 4/10

Germany has chosen red for their second strip, changing from the green of the past. It has the same pattern as the Spanish away jersey though the contrasting red and black make it more apparent.

Nigeria home
Originality 9/10
Finish 8/10
Uniqueness 10/10

Since the introduction of Nigeria’s new first strip, it has become one of the most identifiable and sought after kits. The chevrons in neon green and black provide a new spin on the country’s colours and are the reason its one of the world’s most popular kits.

Nigeria away
Originality 6/10
Finish 7/10
Uniqueness 6/10

Choosing a darker colour than their previous away jerseys has worked well for the Nigerians. It has given the numbers and badge more clarity and overall the jersey has a sleeker and more classy finish.

Sweden home
Originality 4/10
Finish 5/10
Uniqueness 7/10

Sweden’s home jersey is unmistakable thanks mostly to their use if colour. The positioning of the flag and the shirt detailing adds a unique flare.

Sweden away
Originality 4/10
Finish 5/10
Uniqueness 7/10

Sweden’s second strip is almost identical to their home kit, only the colours are reversed. Again the unique colours of the country set this kit apart.

Canada home
Originality 3/10
Finish 5/10
Uniqueness 2/10

Unfortunately, Canada’s colours are the most common among teams competing in this year's World Cup. As such this jersey while clean cut, is too similar to the other red kits and is lacking any elements that set it apart from the rest.

Canada away
Originality 3/10
Finish 5/10
Uniqueness 2/10

Though it has a clean finish the Canadian jersey is quite plain and very similar to many other kits at the World Cup.
