The new clubs to the AFLW in 2019, North Melbourne and Geelong, could be on a war path for player selection.
Both teams were asked by the AFL to submit a "wishlist" of players they would like to target from the existing clubs in the competition
Foxfooty.com.au has reported that the review process of the target players has begun which will see clubs either approved or denied their requests to approach players.
But this approach has angered the Cats and Kangaroos.
They believe they should have the right to manage their playing lists how they see fit under the salary cap.
While the AFL has the power to veto trades, they can also veto who approaches players in an attempt to keep the talent balance across the competition.
