After Adelaide Crows co-captain Erin Phillips announced her intent to resign with the club today she announced her intentions to continue playing AFL for another three years.
Phillips will have to wait until the official re-contracting period opens before signing for the 2019 season.
Despite carrying a quad injury, which kept her sidelined for the opening two rounds, the inaugural AFLW Best and Fairest and Crows Women’s Club Champion was still one of the most dangerous players in the league.
“I definitely still feel I’ve got plenty of football left in me,” she told media today.
"I’ve got to at least have one season with no injuries, right?
“My goal is at least three more and then see what happens after that.
"I’d love to just play football as long as I can," Phillips said.
There was speculation she had links with Collingwood and while Phillips admitted there had been interest from other clubs neither her nor her management had spoken to the Magpies.
Phillips is set to return to the United States in her role as an assistant coach with the Dallas Wings in the WNBA.
She will return to Adelaide for pre-season training in November.
