Swede Alex Nilsson takes out the two top gongs | TWG

At a gala awards dinner last night, Perth Glory Women's Swedish defender Alexandra Nilsson was named the Most Glorious Women's Player for the 2010/11 Westfield W-League season.
Nilsson, who partnered Glory captain Tanya Oxtoby in the centre of the defence, was a rock throughout the season and her importance within the team was further recognised with the ME Bank Player's Player of the Year.
"I have to thank everybody involved in the team to help me do this," said the 24 year old dual winner. "Good players, good coach, good staff - everybody has been fantastic and I've loved being in Perth."
Coach John Gibson said Nilsson was a top performer from the time she landed in Perth. "Alexandra was a consistent performer over the course of the season and a fabulous acquisition to the group this year," he said.
"She (Nilsson) is very professional and coachable - a quality person who has been an absolute delight to have with Perth Glory.
A Swedish international, Nilsson will now turn her attention to pushing for a place in the Swedish squad for the Women's World Cup. For the end, the defender is looking for another good season with her Damallsvenskan side Sunnanå. As to whether she will be back wearing the purple next year, she was a little more coy.
"Now I will head back to Sweden, but I have no regrets from my time in Perth and maybe I'll be back again next season, but we will see."
The APB Modular Golden Boot was shared by Westfield Matildas strikers Kate Gill and Sam Kerr after they scored three goals apiece in season 2010/11.
