For the third straight season, Melbourne Victory will be looking for a new head coach with Joe Montemurro resigning last month.

Montemurro, who took over from Dave Edmondson in Season 7, has taken up the post of head coach for the Melbourne City National Youth League side, sending Football Federation Victoria back to the drawing board.

The Pro-licenced coach has been a part of the FFV set up for a number of years and prior to the Victory position had been in charge of the Victorian NTC U17 girls program.

The 45 year old led Melbourne Victory for 13 W-League games, finishing the 2014 season in second place.

Despite hosting a first ever semi final, the Victory fell to Canberra United in a tense match that was eventually decided by penalty shoot out.

The next coach could be Victory’s 6th in four seasons, or maybe not?
