Melbourne Victory has announced their full squad for the 2016/17 W-League season including the signing of international pair Bianca Henninger and Samantha Johnson.

Both Henninger and Johnson will be set to play crucial roles vacated by veteran former Matildas.

Houston Dash's Henninger will claim the no.1 jersey after long time goalkeeper Melissa Barbieri was sidelined this season following an ACL and MCL tear sustained in the Victorian winter competition.  Henninger, 25, has represented the USA at under-20 and under-23 level and has suited up for the Dash a number of times in the past three seasons.

Henninger will be deputised by 18-year-old goalkeeper Bethany Mason-Jones from Calder United in the PlayStation 4 NPL Victoria Women's competition.

Meanwhile central defender Johnson will be experience at the back, stepping into the defensive leader position left by Thea Slatyer.

Johnson is no stranger to the W-League having completed a season with Sydney FC under Alen Stajcic.  This NWSL season she was a key member of the Chicago Red Stars semi final run playing 20 matches in 2016.

Henninger and Johnson complete the Victory's international roster that includes Christine Nairn, who returns for a third season with Victory, and striker Natasha Dowie.

Rounding out the squad is long time Victory striker and club leading goalscorer Caitlin Friend, who makes a return to the W-League after a number of seasons out.
