Deep down Jenna McCormick knew what she needed to do.
McCormick came into the 2019 AFLW season off the back of a strong and consistent season in the W-League with Brisbane Roar.
She has even extended her contract with the team mid-way through the 2018/19 season after originally only signing on for half-a-season.
Fans have been calling for McCormick to receive a Matildas call up.
The South Australian puts her fantastic season down to being able to enjoy the sport again after almost throwing away 12 months ago.
"For the first time, I felt as though I was giving myself a real chance to push for greater opportunities in soccer but to do that, I firstly needed to finish the season at the Roar and then be all-in for 365 days of the year," McCormick said.

She's not leaving AFLW forever, just for now.
"I want to be the best possible player I can be and I want to allow myself every opportunity to pursue my greater goals," she said.
"Deep down, I know this is what I need to do in order to test myself. I don’t want to look back with regrets, for not just giving my soccer career a fully committed shot."
McCormick will be putting all her focus and energy into her football and is looking to have another strong W-League season.
Where? Well, that's unknown for now but that's not what matters in this situation.
She just wants to give it her all no matter what eventuates.
"I don’t want to focus too much on the big picture, I just want to consistently perform and if rewards come to me because of that, I will take them with open arms."
"If things don’t happen to work out for me the way I’d like, I will still be content within myself."
