Revealed! The new Matildas kit - pic special

The Matildas are one of the most successful football teams in Australia’s history, if not the most successful. The journey has been full of hard work and determination, and now as they prepare for the momentous year ahead, they’ll be wearing their very own National Team Collection for the first time.

"I love it. I think it's a kit that expresses us and reflects us as individuals and our personalities will but also as a team to play with a bit of flair and fun and go out there and show the world what we're made of," Kyah Simon enthused at the launch.

The professional treatment of the Matildas as athletes by Nike is an important milestone in women's sport.

"We've had the support from Nike for so long now and me on a personal level as well. But to have a kit specifically made and detailed for us, the Matildas, is something that I never thought would ever be a thing. To have so much detail and thought and meaning behind it. Also, something so special to wear and to walk out there and represent our country but also to wear a kit that means so much."

Versatile striker, Caitlin Foord is also positive about the kit, highlighting that it wears well with a tailored fit and it feels great. The players look and feel more confident in it already.

The kit features an almost graffiti-esque Golden Wattle and Australia’s landscape all coalescing in the graphic, encapsulating all of contemporary Australia.

“The kit is unreal, it’s such a different take on what we've seen in the past and we couldn’t have hoped for a better looking home jersey,” says Sam Kerr.

“To have a kit designed just for the Matildas to play in, it’s a dream come true, and we are honoured to be pulling on the green and gold. The socks are pretty wild too.”

The Matildas will debit the kit in a friendly against the USA in April in Colorado and fans can purchase it in women's, men's and kids size from March 12th.

The National Team Kits also reflect Nike’s continued commitment to being the world’s most sustainable sports brand, with each 2019 Nike Kit constructed from at least 12 recycled plastic bottles.

With the words "Never Say Die" printed inside the kit, this is as real as it gets.
