Hey there, my name is Sasha Andrews, but my mates call me "Sasha Fierce".

I am a Canadian international player now playing for the Perth Glory. As a quick update on how daily life is for us as players of the Glory, it can be summed up as “living the dream”.

We have visited various beaches, where surfing has become a new act for us foreigners. Lucky for us our room mate Aivi Luik from the Gold Coast has it mastered.

Aivi is a Matilda and finished her previous season in Denmark, I have played a season with Aivi in America so it is nice to have someone around who I know. My other roommate is Carly Telford from England, she plays for Chelsea during her regular season as well as for England as a goalkeeper!

We have been exploring the beautiful city of Perth. It is has been surreal to be here in this what we call "PARADISE!”. We talk of how blessed we are to go to the beautiful beaches by day and then football by night.

On our days off we have explored the zoo, cafes, had BBQ’s, sat around a camp fire, and of course made it to the gym for classes and workouts. Other than the noisy crows and learning to drive on the opposite side of the road, we have all settled in very well together.

Lesson #1 (learned very quick) is that Tim Tams are addictive, along with all of the cool “ lollies” we had to try. We are regulars at the Westfield mall, and have been looking for jobs, spending money, and have purchased our tickets to go and see the new Twilight. The club has been very accommodating and it has been an easy transition from overseas.

Now that we are all caught up....we won our season opener versus Melbourne Victory 2-0 last weekend. We were quite pleased with the result. As for performance, we are gelling as a team quite rapidly and I am really looking forward to this weekend’s match versus Adelaide United.

Practices have been intense and we have working on our shape. We seem to be the underdogs in the Westfield W-League, and what we have realized is that the club has invested in great players for the squad this year.

We are the ones who need to have expectations for our performances as we are the ones accountable for what we produce on the field. We will be ready for every challenge we are faced with, as we can only get better as the days go by.

Until next week.......signing off.....
