Canberra United has added to their W-League firepower with the signing of three time W-League championship winner Lisa De Vanna.

De Vanna joins United as a guest player after departing defending W-League champions Melbourne City.

A recent runner up in the 2016 AFC Women's Player of the Year award, De Vanna domestic and international CV is extensive with several awards and recognitions earned through her 15 year career.

Canberra United and De Vanna had been in talks early in the season but negotiations ramped up in the past fortnight with Dower and De Vanna's meeting last week sealing the deal.

The 32 year old is a strong pick up for United with head coach Rae Dower now possessing the most potent forward line in the W-League with over 130 goals between them.  De Vanna's signing also adds depth to Canberra's squad.

As a guest player the forward will be eligible to play seven matches for the two time W-League champions and is anticipated to be a part of the squad for Canberra's Round clash with Melbourne Victory.

Canberra United currently lead the W-League with 13 points.
