The Brisbane native will pull on the maroon, blue and gold for AFLW 3.0 as she looks to keep up her record of never missing a game.

“I love Brisbane, it’s my home and I’ve always loved it here,” McCarthy said.

“We don’t have one or two players which we always rely on and that’s always been a goal of ours and something we’ve worked towards and a reason why we’ve been successful,” she said.

McCarthy is the third major re-signing for club in a matter of days alongside Sabrina Frederick-Traub and Jessica Wuetschner.

Nat Exon, Jordan Zanchetta and Shannon Campbell have also signed on for the 2019 season.

Exon, who was traded to the Lions from Carlton last year, made an immediate impact in her debut and led in the tackle count (44) for the Lions.

Zanchetta was the Lions first pick in the 2017 NAB AFLW Draft and played five games in the midfield for the Lions this year after missing the inaugural season through injury.
