After sitting out the inaugural 2017 Suncorp Super Netball season as a new mum, Geitz pulled on the purple dress during a trial match against the Super Netball defending champions the Sunshine Coast Lightning at the Queensland Sports and Academy Centre in Brisbane.

The veteran defender Geitz has already played pre-season matches in Perth and also Sydney this year, but last night was Laura’s first match on Queensland soil.

The game was a closed trial match, with the Lorna Jane Queensland Firebirds proving too strong for the Lightning, winning 56-43.

The Lorna Jane Queensland Firebirds begin their 2018 Suncorp Super Netball campaign against the NSW Swifts on April 29.

TICKETS are selling fast for the Firebirds’ first home match, which sees them host the Lightning in Round 2 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 6 May.
