The Junior Matildas have learned their opponents for the second round of qualifiers for the 2019 AFC U16 Women’s Championship.
Australia were drawn against Vietnam, IR Iran and hosts Laos early Thursday morning.
They booked their place in the second round after going undefeated in the opening round of qualifiers where they scored 39 goals in four games and didn't concede a goal.
Laos was undefeated in Group B while IR Iran and Vietnam finished runners-up in their groups.
The Junior Matildas will kick off their next round of qualifiers on February 27, 2019, against IR Iran with their last group match taking place on March 3 against Laos.
Australia will be looking to make it further than they did in 2017, where they finished third in their group.
The Junior Matildas have never qualified for a FIFA U17 Women's World Cup since the introduction of the tournament in 2008.
The group winners and runners-up will qualify for the 2019 AFC U-16 Women’s Championship, to be held in Thailand next September.
