The Women's Game has been dedicated to covering women's football in Australia.
With the FIFA Women's World Cup fast approaching along with the 12th instalment of the W-League later this year, we are looking for new football writers to join our team.
We are also looking for writers to join our rugby league, netball, cricket and rugby union teams for our expanded coverage of NRL Women's, Super Netball, 2019 Netball World Cup, Wallaroos Test matches and the Women's Ashes.
About the positions
The positions are volunteer-based and are more of a cadetship with the published writers within TWG’s team available to guide and assist as required.
We are currently looking for writers to cover:
- Cricket
- Netball
- Rugby League
- Rugby Union/Sevens
- Football (soccer)
The role includes:
- Writing previews, match report, round wraps, feature stories and in-depth analysis
- Live tweeting of W-League and Matildas matches (football only)
- Interviewing athletes
While templates/guidelines are provided but there is plenty of scopes to personalise pieces.
What we are looking for
We are looking for writers who:
- possess solid writing skills
- can work to deadlines
- have some understanding of social media
- are passionate about women's sport and wants to be part of a great team!
